If You Are in a Hurry

Here’s a quick list of the top hotels in Chicago with a whirlpool suite:

The Champagne Lodge:
The Most Luxurious Suite with Hot Tub & Private Pool

Best Western Plus Oakbrook Inn
The Best Value for Money

Our Top 3 Picks of Hotels with Hot Tub in Room in Chicago

The Champagne Lodge

The Champagne Lodge & Luxury Suites ranks among the best hotels we’ve had the pleasure of staying at. If your budget allows, you could opt for a suite with a private pool. However, we chose the hot tub suite, which is featured in our first photo.

The room boasts a king-size bed with a memory foam mattress. We found it incredibly comfortable, though it might take some getting used to if you’re new to memory foam. There’s also a walk-in shower, large enough for two people, which isn’t shown in the photos. And of course, there’s a Jacuzzi situated right next to the bed.

As for dining, we enjoyed Mexican food and cocktails at La Cabañita, which is just a 5-minute drive away. Alternatively, the area also offers the Chiba Japanese Restaurant with its impressive sushi and reasonable prices.

Best Western Plus Oakbrook Inn

Located in Oak Brook with easy car access, we find the hotel that offers the best value for money for its suite rooms with a Jacuzzi.

Pay close attention when booking, as there are several rooms with bathtubs, but only one has a big tub for two as shown in the photo (the room with the spa bath).

What most customers appreciate is the excellent housekeeping service, ensuring that both the hot tub and the room itself are spotless – an important factor when booking this type of hotel. As for the bed, it’s not the most comfortable out there. I would give an average rating to both the mattress and the pillows.

To top it off, the booking comes with breakfast included. While there could be a bit more fruit variety, overall, it’s good enough to replenish your spent energy.

Recommended Hot Tub Suite: King Suite with Spa Bath

Baymont by Wyndham Joliet Rooms

Another affordable yet good option in Chicago for booking a room with a hot tub is the Baymont by Wyndham Joliet Motel. If this location works better for you, it’s a good idea to check out the Deluxe King Studio Suite, which comes with a hot tub and mirrors for a more daring night.

The pros: breakfast is included, the room is quite clean, and that’s a significant plus. Also, it must be said: the bed is of very high quality and it shows.

The cons: the breakfast doesn’t offer much variety beyond waffles and cereal. But, given that it’s included in the room price, we really can’t complain.

However, if you want to kick off your day on an even better note and don’t mind spending a few more dollars, head over to Louie’s Waffle House for breakfast. They serve not only sweets, but also omelets, toast, and bacon. Plus, it’s literally just 20 meters away from the hotel.

Chicago Club Inn & Suite

Another hotel with Jacuzzi / hot tub we recommend for a unique night out is the Chicago Club Inn. Despite its average ratings, it offers pretty good value for money, particularly for the suite with a hot tub.

The hotel is located in Westmont, with ample and easy parking and an indoor-pool. The staff is quite friendly, which we believe is a plus when visiting this kind of hotel for a couple’s getaway.

The suite’s bed has a medium-soft mattress (we personally prefer firmer or memory foam mattresses) and the pillows are neither the best nor the worst. It’s something I’ll never understand – why don’t hotels invest in the best pillows on the market?

Lastly, and most importantly, there’s a large Jacuzzi next to the bed, equipped with adjustable LED lights. You can change the colors to add a more romantic touch.

Recommended Suite

Holiday Inn Express Chicago

The Holiday Inn Express Chicago is a well-located hotel that offers a King Suite with Spa Bath.

It’s quite affordable and recommended for a different kind of night out. However, for stays longer than one night or to celebrate a special occasion, we suggest one of the previous hotels, as the quality of this one is somewhat average and it’s not particularly romantic.

The bed is comfortable, but the bathroom could use some upgrades to achieve that ‘high-class’ feel. And finally, it appears that they may have already replaced the towels, as we’ve seen positive comments about them.

If you’re looking to cap off the night with a good Mexican dinner, there are several options in the area, but the standout is “Burrito Parrilla Mexicana”. Give their ‘Tacos al Pastor’ a try and let us know what you think!

New Relax Inn Bridgeview

If you’re searching for a motel with an in-room hot tub and a romantic touch that doesn’t feel low class, I think you’ll like this one, especially their suite room with a heart-shaped spa bath.

Tips and Suggestions to Enjoy Your Room with a Hot Tub

How to make the night more romantic without spending extra money

Having stayed in dozens of hot tub rooms, my advice would be to bring along LED candles to create a cozy ambiance around the Jacuzzi. You might also consider packing an HDMI cable to connect your laptop to the TV, allowing you to watch your favorite shows/movies. I assure you, after a relaxing bath, lying back and watching a movie or series is a magical experience.

Another tip from my personal experience is to make the most of the hotel. That means don’t arrive late. This gives you time to take a bath, get dressed, go out for dinner, and after dinner, take another bath before heading to bed!

Do hot tub rooms come with special bubble-making shampoo?

No, most come with basic toiletries. Whenever I want to make the night a bit more special or want to take cooler photos, I bring along a small bottle of shampoo that I know creates lots of bubbles in the water.

How to Create Lasting Memories from Your Getaway

Drawing together is a delightful activity when traveling with a partner. Here’s a fun game to try: One person sketches something of their choice for 60 seconds, keeping it a secret from the other. Afterward, the sketch is handed to the other person, who continues it for another 60 seconds.

After five rounds, take a moment to review and discuss the combined artwork. Often, you’ll find yourselves adding humorous elements or recalling romantic memories that perhaps one of you had forgotten. Preserve these collaborative drawings in an album.

This way, your memories won’t be limited to just hotel stays or photos – you’ll have something uniquely crafted by the two of you.

  • How do I know if my hotel room has a Jacuzzi tub or hot tub?

When you go to book the room, you'll be able to see its photos. Make sure the pictures show the whirlpool tub. Additionally, the room name is usually "double room with jetted tub," "double room with spa bath," "double room with Jacuzzi," or something similar.

  • What's the difference between a room with a spa bath and a room with a hot tub?

The difference between a room with a spa bath and a room with a hot tub is the size of the tub. Typically, a spa bath is smaller, located near the bed, and designed for two people, while a hot tub is usually square, accommodating up to four people, and found in luxury suites or cabins.

Yesterday was mine and my fiancés first time trying out the champagne lodge! We love it! When we checked in the guy was super friendly. We walked in our room and we couldn’t believe we were actually there. Super romantic. Music was already playing when we got in the room. The guy had to come help us figure out a light but all was good- he was super understanding. We had the pool suite- definitely recommend. Pool was clean and super relaxing. Well everything was clean in the room. They really took the time to add special touches to make it more romantic. Yes it’s a bit pricey but it’s well worth it! The only thing I was kinda surprised about was that they had continental breakfast stated on our paper we got but when we called and went to the lobby it was all packaged pastries and sugar that you can get from a store. I felt like with how much we spent there should have been at least something else. But other than that we loved it and will be back!

My wife and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary and decided to get way for a night. We decided to treat ourselves to a pool suite. We were not disappointed. We had the best night together in a long time and we needed it. The room lived up to the pictures, the staff was very friendly. 100% will be back soon and have already recommended to our friends and family.

I just checked in 7/15-7/18. I was looking forward to having a great two days off for my birthday weekend. Once I checked in and had an opportunity to look around the room, I noticed a lot of physical damaged. I called down to the front desk and explained all the physical damage. I also explained that the radio in the room was not working. I was met with what would you like me to do about it? I asked the gentleman he works here as I previously worked here years ago I just wanted to know if there was any other options any better rooms, etc. The gentleman told me he will check and give me a call back. 20 minutes later I have someone banging on my room door very loud and obnoxiously, as if it was law enforcement! I answered the door, I explained that I have a towel on and the young lady says OK I’m here to speak with you. I open the door with a towel because I’m assuming it’s an emergency and she says oh we’re two girls you’re fine. I asked what is the issue? The woman NEVER stated her title or introduced herself after i asked a few tines why is she so aggressive with me? She said well I just wanted to let you know since you checked in and you used the bathroom, & the shower, I am unable to move you because we are sold out. I offered to walk her through the room to show her the physical damage she was not at all concerned about that one bit. I was met with. When did you work here? I been here for years and this seems suspicious? I replied why does that matter? The room is worn down? The lady just kept being more concerned on when I worked there rather then serving the guest. I called the hotel to get her name and they reluctantly gave me DEBRA “who needs to be retained on guest services & recovery along with the front desk team. Just to be clear I worked here between 2007-2009” the woman kept saying Do you want to check out? “Because this was the only solution she had” I said if I wanted to check out I would’ve never checked in for two days I said I understand if people cannot take criticism and a lot of hotels are that way but I will just ensure not to communicate with you guys going forward during my stay. I definitely explain that I will leave a detailed review about my experience and will just take it from there. The woman was extremely aggressive and very upset that I called her out on the issues within the room. This property was an amazing property when it first opened, of course do to wear and tear things have changed. They no longer offer Robes or rain showers just the Jacuzzi & bed! Please in the future listen to your guest concerns it will take you and the property much further because Debra is not leading by example!

Stayed last weekend and had a pretty gross experience. Close to I-55, super loud. Room smelled like smoke (there's a cigarette disposal next to the door - pretty sure law states 15 feet away) and there was mold in the bottom of the shower. Not surprised because there's no windows in the room although from the outside it looks like they have windows. Couldn't cancel, so we make it through the night somehow. Do not recommend.

What a fun escape! We booked the regular room and they upgraded us for free! So, we got to try out the steam shower and bigger sized tub. We had so much fun with the jacuzzi we did it twice. The steam shower was fun but nothing I'd pay extra for. The room was big and so DARK and quiet we nearly slept through our check out time! A great place to reconnect and relax.

This review comes on behalf of my mom, but I totally agree with her review. A+ weekend experience.I want to give a five-star review to The Viceroy Hotel in Chicago. My family stayed there over Labor Weekend for my son’s wedding and it was nothing short of amazing. The hotel is gorgeous, especially the rooftop pool and bar! Each staff member was kind and professional, however I want to give a huge thank you to Alison Theurea the Guest Relations Manager. She extended herself to all of us for the weekend and her kind ways and thoughtfulness was appreciated by the bride and groom. We thank you for making our experience at The Viceroy a wonderful one!

Absolutely stunning, my Husband and I are staying three nights here and he has been so excited since we walked into the room. It’s beautiful and though we have stayed in other hotels here in Chicago, this has definitely topped all of our experiences. It’s nice, cozy and a welcoming luxurious environment. I know we’ll be back soon.

Had a great stay at this hotel for a short work trip. Incredible staff and the overall cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel in general was over the top! Area is buzzing with a lot of good restaurants and luxury retail stores just a walk away, as well as walking distance from other touristy attractions. Would 100% book a stay again if I ever come back to Chicago!

The hotel is gorgeous, comfortable and clean. The rooftop deck/pool area was top notch. The room service was mid, but I would stay her again because the service level is unmatched. Kristopher, in particular, went above and beyond expected service standards and delivered a warm and gracious vibe.

I stayed here 5 days/nights in June '23. Very nice hotel with great views on the lakeside. Rooms are very clean and modern with great minibar. Bedding is comfortable and plush. The room lighting is incredible.Be careful when exiting the elevator on the hotel floors as the corridor walls and couffered ceiling is striped and may be disorienting.
